stuck brake disc

Default stuck brake disc

decided to fit the 2 pots i bought off here today and 2 hours later im still on the first one. had the caliper bracket off in a few mins and the brake disc is stuck on and i cant seem to loosen it. anybody know how to loosen them so i can get them off please.

I take it your talking rears?
Make sure the handbrake is off for a start.. Other than that just a little force.

no sorry there on the front. its a 98 1.6 so and the original calipers needed changing so thought it might be a good idea to make them a bit bigger.

Ahh. In the centre of the discs by the wheel studs there should be two small holes there. These have thread in them. Get two M6 bolts and wind them in. Tighten each one a little at a time and the disc should start to come away from the hub!

If that fails. Get a lump hammer and chisel and a couple of well aimed smites with the chisel on the edge of the step in the disc will have it split off. Make you realise how weak a cast disc is!

got it with the bolts in the m6 holes. not much turning and out she came. cheers for all yer help but no doubt ill be on soon on with another problem knowing my luck
