Default Sticking Brake

Hi, the car drives fine, just the last few weeks, I think the front left brake is sticking, the car doesn't struggle to move, however, when you are on a slight hill, you have no need to put the hand break on as it stays put without it!! We are going to take it to Kwik Fit as they do a free break test. I was just wondering if anyone knew what this was and aprox how much it is to be fixed. Many thanks, Sarah xs

Most modern cars have a hill hold function that stops them rolling backwards when on a hill - my works transit van even has a light on the dash to tell you when it is functioning.

If your front brake is sticking then that will be a seperate problem.

Kwik-Fit................Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooo!

PLEASE find a decent garage, they will diagnose for free if you have the work done there.

I'd rather take my car to Dewhursts the butchers than Kwik-Fit.

You should have the two pot sliding brakes then. Its probably either the slider is stuck or (what happened to my old brakes) the pads have rusted in the clips that stop them rattling. A brake service should cure this. Take it to a decent garage to get any work done and not kwik f*ck up
