18's to 17's - size advice please
I have a GB270 wagon with Godspeed original size replacement disks and pads. I am looking to buy a set of 17' alloys for my winter commuting (50mile round trip...).
Looking in the manual, I think my car has 7.5x18's and I know i'm on 225/40/18 rubber.
Not knowing much about anything when it comes to alloys:
1) What size rims should I be looking for - 7.5x17, 5x100???
2) What size rubber do I need to keep the rolling radius the same?
has anyone put together a piece explaining rim size, fitting and rubber size for different years of impreza?

This should help;
http://www.jettyres.co.uk/tyre-tips/tyre-markings/
The 7.5 is the width of the rim in Inches.
The 5x100 is the number of wheel studs (5) and the pitch circle diameter (PCD = 100mm)
