Default Wheel refurb..£340

Just paid the above for a refurb. On a set of 18" Ultraleggeras the paint was mega bucks Lechler sparkling glass, which had to be sprayed on a black basecoat.I think i should have bought a new set in the first place......

Lechler isn't a very expensive clear coat at all mate,I'm in the trade and know exactly what cost's big bucks and what doesn't.
200 for materials is quite frankly a rip off end,i could do them in some £300 for 5 litres clear and given what little amount is required to coat 4 wheels it still wouldn't be that amount!

Just got the latest EVO mag, they pay around that to refurb the long term test Clio Williams wheels so not unheard of for a top class job. £850 for wheels that need a full refurb is possibly steep tho.
The main thing is you are happy with them at the end of the day. The difference between £200 or £340 is not massive when compared to the total cost of the wheels and tyres so don't sweat it just enjoy the finished product.

Default respray

ive just finished a full respray (except roof) after a **** head scratched the both sides for me,i hope after a months work of preping, masking, priming, flatting, more masking, priming, flatting etc..... i dont feel that pain again, lol

she looks the dogs now, just got to refit skirts, rear spoiler, and get it valleted for the summer, cant wait as ive been using one of three courtesy cars over the month, one is a laguna one is a pug 306 and the other is a work horse audi estate with 250000 miles on it !!!! my sti will feel like a ferrari for a while,i get sea sick when i go round a corner in them courtesy cars, lol
to op ; i had a wheel refurb on my 18" pff7 alloys in gold for £160,that was to remove tyres, shot blast, treat wheel, then powder coat, tyre back on ballanced.it was a very good job as they were quite badly kerbed and had white rust all over them but were not perfect,so if you have a set of wheels now that look perfect its money well spent mate.

16 inch, tyres off, straighten one slightly buckled, sand blast, powder coat, tyres on and balanced. Same day service £240

Had wife's resprayed 2 years ago £200 and still look ok.
