I was just stating what they would be used for, i know when doing the 1/4 you dont need amazing brakes.
You say overkill but i will be running about 500bhp which i should of also stated i suppose.

When I was down at Roger Clark they had some AP's on display which I had a look at, the quality of them was way better than my Tar-Ox jobbies (12 pots).
I was very tempted to get them

I love my six pot AP's they are superb even compared to the PF + Brembo set-up they replaced. And they were superb already !
dunx
P.S. I'd go >330mm if you are likely to do >100mph stops repeatedly.

AP's are the way to go or should that be stop. I have AP 4 pot calipers on 330 discs from Godspeed, they only just fit behind standard 17" wheels ! In a word Amazing !!

You're missing the point entirely!
The K Sports are exceptional for the money and if they are upto the job on Duncan's Graham's and Paul Doyle's Time Attack cars then they are more than adequate for any road car perhaps even overkill for one.
So based on the use they'll get the OP would be better of buying the K Sports and spending the extra that the AP's would cost elsewhere on the car.

Neither of them run the K-Sport discs or pads though do they???
So by the time you add teh cost to upgrade those it probably is close to the price of the AP kit.
Plus you can get the AP calipers with godspeed discs and bells etc and save a bit of cash that way too.
I've never had K-Sports so can't comment on their quality, but I have had a couple sets of AP's. So not a comparison as such from me but using the above is not really a fair comparison IMHO.

AP's are undoubtedly awesome and I'm sure budget permitting people would go with them. But this is the real world and not everyone can afford to buy the best of everything.
So considering their intended use for this application the K sport Calipers and disks will EASILY cope and make them a very good choice.
Admittedly the K sport pads are sh*te so an upgrade at time of purchase still makes a susbtantial saving over the AP's
I think at the moment and for the money the K sports are the only real alternative to the AP kit.
