well when my wife started using upgraded brakes on her subaru she had the same problem ,which might be your case, your just not using them hard enough with perfomance brakes you need to use them properly if you are just doing 30mph on a regular basis they can glaze up.

its not got braided. no idea on fluid, its been serviced by a speciallist so hope its decent. brake peddle feels to hard, thats what made me think it could be a servo problem

I found this when I first got my scoob, same symptoms you described....had to really stand on the brakes if i wanted to stop quickly.
I changed my pads and discs for some godspeed grooved discs and kevlar pads - but found the problem to actually be that my rear pads had seized solid in place within the caliper, so id essentially had no rear braking. 10 times better now iv sorted it all out.

if you only paid £75 for ferodo's its most likely you have either their OEM compound or possibly the DSPF neither of which are very exciting..............

Hard pedal? Sounds like somethings a-miss to me. I'm assuming brembo calipers? Usually the pedal is soft when bedding in so if its hard it could either be something seized or you have a problem with your servo. I'd get someone with some brake knowlege to give all the brakes, front and rear, the once over to make sure nothing is seized solid!

I bought from bob at Aztec. Got the fast road kevlar pads, braided hoses and dot 4 brake fluid.
I had them fitted by a "Brake specialist". They were better than the OEM i had but only barely.
For another reason i went to see Rich @ FB tuning. He refitted them and re bleed the system. What a difference.... They are now awesome and i am more than happy with them.
