Question

I am currently running an RB5 WR Sport with the standard Pirelli P Zero 205/45 ZR17 tyres, one of which has developed a slow puncture (rear offside).

Repairing the tyre is probably a no-no as the rating would be impacted? so what are the alternatives?

Tyre wear is fairly low so am considering just replacing the offending tyre with another P Zero, but what of my other options, If I were to change to another tyre should I change all tyres or just the two rears?

I would be interested to learn of fellow owners experiences of doing similar, recommendations for tyre choice, sizes any pitfalls to watch out for, and most importantly where to get the best deals...I'm in SE London / Kent.

Any help you can offer will be greatly appreciated.

I would play it safe and do the two rears as long as your fronts have plenty of tread. If you drive hard why no put the two new tyres on the front and the older two on the back.

Don't mix different types of tyre
Don't have tyres with uneven wear.

I think PIs are OK ish.
Toyos T1 - Bridgestone SO3 - Goodyear F1 seem to be what most people go for.

The for sale section often has sets of tyres for sale. For two however I would go to a smaller outlet and do a deal for cash

Hi M8,
Of course its up to you, but have you spoken to a tyre dealer. I have recently had two punctures repaired with no problems. One was a major repair £18.00 (had to be sent away).

If you can change all your tyres at once you would benefit by
changing to 215/40xZR17's as the choice of manufacturers is much
better.I think with the current size you are running you are
limited to two.
