Default Stretch tyres

I've just got some inovit redline 2 alloys in 18inch. I want some 235/35/18 so I get a stretch tyre look. Will these be safe as its a 4x4 car with low profile tyres or should I go up a tyres size. I like the look but don't fancy paying out if anything does go wrong.

Hi

If you have 18" Inovit Redlines, a 235/35 tyre will not give you the stretched look. The tyre is too wide for the wheel. The wheel is only 7.5" wide.
To get the stretched look on a 7.5" wide wheel you would have to fit a really narrow tyre, then it would be the wrong size for any Impreza.
In the majority of cases all you are doing by fitting tyres that will 'stretch' is fitting the incorrect tyre size for the car, this will knock the speedo etc out.
What you should do is fit the correct tyre size (215/35/18 Classic or 225/40/18 Majority of New Age cars).

Thanks

Keith
