I don't believe it.... my MOT runs out tomorrow and I'm getting a brand new car next month, I took my Scooby to gt it's MOT and it's been failed.

The Steering rack is leaking and there's excessive steering shaft end float, so I'm looking at replacing the steering rack. The cost for a reconditioned one is £285 plus labour costs.

I only needed the car to be MOT'd for another 5 weeks as well, I phoned the garage where I'm buying my new car from and explained the situation and would they be willing to take it from me now. They replied back that they'd have to get it repaired themselves at one of their own Subaru garages and I'd be looking at losing up to £1000 of my trade in price. B@57ard I thought to myself....

Looks like it's gonna be a reconditioned rack and cut back on the beers for a month.
