Default Tyre Advice

Hi all,

Need to put a new set of tyres on my scoob, its a 2002 WRX bugeye, currently has 215/45 on it. 17" alloys standard Subaru alloys.

Whats the widest set of tyres that wont rub or cause me any problems and what would you recommend?

Cheers and thanks in advance guys.

I`ve recently put a pair of Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta on the front of mine and I`m very impressed so far. Widthwise, ummm, probably 225`s is the max, not sure. Someone will know ;-)

Your rims are probably 7j width and as such I would not go over 225 width. I had 225 on my old 03 WRX rims and they were fine with no rubbing.

Cool thread I'm looking to change alloys soonish after picking my bug eye STI up. Does the change in suspension from wrx to STI (and if there's a further change to the Type UK) affect whether or not 225s will rub or not?

Also, any suggestions on places to buy wheel/tyre packages for the Scoobs?
