Default Porsche Cayenne 6pot Install...

Just thought i'd post a few pics of my Porsche Cayenne 6pot install, it's been a long time in the making but have finally got all of the carrier brakets designed and CNC milled. It's cost a lot less than the powerstation conversion, although the GT3 calipers are nicer they're effectively a similar thing, and we can retain the 17" wheels which is a big plus point for a classic track car.

All fitted up with pagid road pads for now, just for testing purposes so I can decide what race compound to use... All I can say is wow!! They certainly have some bite, can't see us having an issue on track with these.

Comments or questions welcome... ;-)

Good fit

Discs look well worn?

Would recommend the new EBC Bluestuff NDX compound. We use them in our Porsche 6 Pots and they work very well both on track and road.

They're not listed for the Porsche calipers on our online store just yet, but are available to buy.

Tim, Has scotty text you to say that it's all cool this end... no need for your beast on friday!!

Aztec, The discs are just for testing purposes hence they are a bit worn... Will look into the EBC Blue's as I hadn't thought of them, was looking at the Carbotech range of pads!

wrx9181... they are simply awesome!! to the point where a lazy race compound with less initial bit might help them to be a bit more progressive, as you only have to touch them and your licking the windscreen!!

They do make the discs look tiny... and they're 330mm!! This is on a classic impreza in case anyone was wondering, as I didn't mention that earlier!

Hi bob, can you tell me if it's the cayenne pad you offer for sale in the bluestuff, or the GT3 pad...? As they are a different pad shape, also there are two pad shapes for the cayenne caliper, one for 330mm discs and one for 350mm discs... We require the 330mm pad with a swept are of 60mm, same pad shape as the VW Touareg!

Cheers,
kim

Default brakes

Hi
After having purchased the kit from powerstation couple of years ago and having them on my own impreza track car i got to say these are the best investment i made

Your brake kit what offset wheel do you need ??
Can i basically buy this Kit from you ??
Where abouts are you ???

I have just bought a RA and the stock brakes are shocking...

Regards
Craig.

As one of the chosen EBC bleustuff dealers I can get any pad shape made in the bluestuff material , we stock loads of these for Impreza's , Evo's , and AP and Brembo calipers , one off pads take a few days to have made.
I can also supply you new discs to fit your bells when your ready for these
Cheers Ian

Thanks for the replies about the pads, will get some info across to you when I get 5 mins.

With regards to buying this kit, I have designed and engineered this kit for our own track car... and therefor don't actually plan on selling it as a kit.

However I would be able to supply the bespoke carrier brackets needed for the conversion, these would be £250 per pair including High Tensile Bolts & Washers.

For this conversion the hub mounting lugs and caliper lugs need to have helicoil inserts, as the way it mounts up has been reverse engineered. More info on this can be supplied if you're interested.

All told with 2 piece discs and bells, calipers, carriers and pads... this conversion should cost around £1150 depending on caliper price. Nearly half the price of the Powerstation kit and you can run on 17s...

Cheers,
Kim.

HI Kim
The correct pad shape for your setup in the new bluestuff material would be £135 + Vat a set and would take a few days to make
Give me a shout if you need them
Cheers Ian

Nope it would be the same...

Went round Oulton Park yesterday and even with standard road pads the performance was excellent... more than enough braking force and not a hint of fade.

Will now get some more discs and bells, then look into these bluestuff pads.

Ian I will be in touch shortly.
