Default BRAKE BALANCE/BIAS ADJUSTING

hi, i have a 94 uk scooby which i am sprinting, a had a problem with the ABS cutting in early and compromising braking, i removed the ABS relays and found a massive improvement in lap time, however under heavy braking i am now locking the rear brakes. i notice the rear brake pressure valve has a large spring and bolt under the cover, does this mean i can adjust the pressure the rear brakes cut or am i barking up the wrong tree. if i am correct in thinking i can do this which way do i turn the bolt to reduce the rear pressure and by how far to make a difference. thanks
