Default yoko prada 2 - excessive noise?

hi all,

i just fitted some rota boost 17x7 and some 215/40/17 yoko prada 2.

the noise from them is terrible. almost sounds like wheel bearing noise from the back. i never had this with my standard wheels.

the tyres on the back have started to saw tooth already, i didnt get this on my standards, in fact they wore very even with only slight wear on the insides at rear. this suggests alignment?

before i go to the trouble of trying the old ones on again to rule out bearings can anyone else comment about any experiences regarding noise from yokos?

cheers

andy

I have these tyres and yes they make loads of road noise - mine sounds like bearing noise aslo - had them checked and they are fine - o my second set of these - don't know why as I think they are not all that to be honest - good in dry but bloody scarey in wet - going to get different ones next time - toyo's maybe.

Parada spec 2s are a budget branded tyre; They trade at less than £70 per tyre. So don't expect the world from them. Cheaper tyres always fall down when it comes to wet/cold weather grip. ( http://tyremen.myshopify.com/product...3w-pa01-parada )

Personally I didn't think they were "that" noisy. Compared to previous Bridgestones but they were pretty badly scrubbed at the time of replacement so were very noisy, as were the Avon ZZ1s that preceeded them (they were on the car when I bought it - horrible tyres) that made me think the rear wheel/diff bearings were shot.

What tyre pressures you running? I used to run up to 35psi front and 32psi back for road use.

Try 36 front 34 rear mate, FWIW Toyo T1R's are better for the money on a classic.

its the wheel bearing type noise that is the problem. its loudest at 40mph ish.
might rotate them at weekend and try old ones to rule out alighnment and wheel bearings.
