Default Terzo no 39 rubbish brakes

Hello all,

I've recently managed to get hold of a completely standard terzo, and the first thing I noticed is that the brakes are pretty well, crap really?! they have no real bite...

I will be upping the power pretty soon but I want to get the brakes sorted first, any help in which way to upgrade would be appreciated?

What car are you coming from? Most normal cars are over servo'd.

IIRC the Terzo was made in 98 and has Subaru 4 Pot calipers?

Decent pads and lines will help, discs too if they are well worn.

Give me a call on 01462 488244 for advice and browse our website for options.

No the Terzo came with the 2 pot front brakes fitted as standard , so will be pants , especially if it's still on original parts.

The calipers might not be working properly which will make the braking even worse

You can make them better with pads and discs , but you need to go with at least the Subaru 4 pot set up which has been fitted under the standard wheels

I can run through different options with you , either PM or email me on ian@godspeedbrakes.co.uk , or phone on monday 01656 723060

Cheers Ian

Thanks for the info

I will definately want to upgrade the lines BOB'5 and I see that you do kits for the red brembo's Ian
the car is completely standard so the wheels are 16's, would it be worth going for bigger wheels for the bigger disk conversions? I hope to be running 300+ bhp eventually so I want to be able to stop well!! I live in France not far from the Black forest and only a few hrs from the nurburgring so there will be some hard track driving.
thanks again

I would highly recommend something decent for track driving. Either Brembos with PF discs or a genuine AP kit.

Yes if you can change the wheels , then fitting larger brakes is the way to go , there are loads of options available , we have an offer on at the Moment on a 330mm kit we make which comes with AP 4 pot calipers and Ferodo DS2500 pads which we have for £895 , but you would need 17" wheels to fit them.

You could also upgrade the rears with either the 290mm discs and 2 pot calipers from the 2001 onwards WRX , or the 316mm discs and 2 pot calipers from the 2001 onwards STi , but if money is tight , the fronts would be the first to do.

We can also supply you braided hoses , can supply you a HEL braided hose kit , which in my opinion are THE BEST hose kits available , we can supply you a hose kit , and 1litre of dot 5.1 high performance brake fluid for £49.50

Its no problem shipping the items to France , and would be a 2 day delivery

Hope this helps

Cheers Ian

Thanks Ian, could you give me more info on the ap brake kits,
Are they just a direct bolt on?
will they fit behind any 17" wheel?
how much would it be for everything for front and rear with hoses?
thanks again

^ Brembos are your best buy bet but you're gonna need new wheels regardless.

Go for the Brembos. Ian is the man for brakes.
