Default B' road wet tyres for an Impreza?

Hello,

I've read a lot of threads and info about tyres for a 52' WRX Sportswagon and I am still not entirely sure what to go for as opinions seem to differ.

I live in North Wales and drive on b' roads about 60% of my time. They are usually wet as it rains too much, and covered in sh*t as the sheep/cows/panthers walk all over them with muddy feet. With this in mind, I am more interested in the wet grip of the tyres.

Currently I am considering the following tyres to go on the standard 17" rims:

Vredestein ultrac sessanta
Toyo proxes t1r
Goodyear f1 gsd3 eagle
Goodyear f1 asymmetric

Can anyone help recommend a tyre specifically for such wet, winding roads. I am overlooking a really good tyre?

The tyres currently fitted are Yokohama S drive, which are fine in the dry, but a bit sketchy in the wet.

Many thanks for any help you can give.

Dylan

Personally I'd go for the Vredestein
I've tried all others bar the T1R (had tried the T1S though)

I recently took my MY05STI round some damp/wet country roads as substancial speed when doing some demo runs with suppliers and I was most impressed with the tyres.

I don't they they'll last a terribly long time though?

Of that list i have tried the Toyos and the Eagle GSD3's and I can say the GSD3's are fantastic in the wet, the best i have tried and I have tried a few over the years - Avon zz3 and Pirellis etc. So if the sessantas and new asymetric F1's are equal if not better than the GSD3's then you won't be dissapointed whatever you choose. T1Rs are nowhere near the F1's IMO especially cold damp conditions.

Avon ZZ3

**** I'd avoid those like the plague.

I had those on a classic and took them off after about 4 weeks.
I basically had no idea what the car was going to do next.
Infact the place that bought them from wouldn't recommend them for anything with some power.
They also gave me substancial discount on a replacement set of tyres

Lads - don't buy cheap shyte tyres

ZZ3 were OK, rather than the woeful ZZ1's which had a dreadful reputation

Goodyear asymetrics. Excellent in wet with the added benefit of being brilliant in the dry.
