As Tony said.

I tried 225/45/18 and 225/40/18, both rubbed. I then ran 215/45/18 for a while and now I'm going to run 215/40/18 on my PFF7's (replica's).

It also depends on the offset of the wheel you're running too don't forget.

I run 225/35/18 on my Classic with P1 alloys(7.5x18), no problem. If you run a higher profile you risk rubbing on the spring platforms and anything other than an ET53 offset you'll risks rubbing on the Arch.

Paul.

225,s will rub the rear on inovit redlines,i had 225x40x18's and 225x35x18's on my P1 without rubbing but they was on the correct offset wheel ET53,iirc the redlines are either ET48 or ET45 so both will rub no matter what anyone says, maybe not in a straight line but on hard cornering it WILL rub the rear arch unless rolled.

on the back of all this

what width are the alloys you are all running 7.5 or 8's

most 18" alloys i have been looking at are all 8" width (advan, rota, compotive)

and are we all agreeing that a 215 tyre will be fine and a 225 will be ok as long as it is a offset of ET53

please need to get this all straight before i drop some money on the wrong thing

cheers

I run 215/35/18 on 8" wide wheels (MY95 WRX). They rubbed as my suspension was to low and getting a little soft. Fitting coilovers has seemed to stop this (and ride height was lifted at the same time).
