Your first post was a bit vague and didn't make much sense to be honest mate, You need to give as much info as possible what size wheels are they? how wide? classic/newage? Lowered yes/no?
I wanted to put 235's on my wheels but due to the 225's scuffing on a 7.5" rim occasionally, i stuck with 225's even when changing to 8" rim.
Vredesteins have a good sidewall which protects the rim, less so when their stretched over a rim. I would say rim width dictates what size tyres you can get away with, i know you can get way stretching smaller width tyres over wide rims but i wouldn't put wide tyres on narrow rims.
Someone should be along to help soon.

Hi, maybe this will make more sense. I was just curious to see if a 225/40/18 vredestein is the same as say a 225/40/18 p zero nero, as i know some tires of the same size can vary from brand to brand. Some have a squarer profile sidewall, some have a round etc etc.
I currently have 225/40/18 p zero's fitted to my 18x8" pff7's but i will swap to say a 235/40/18 vredestein if it runs slightly smaller or different shape.
Do the vredestein's have rim protectors?
Many thanks
