Default which pads for track?

Yes, this is another what brake pad thread .

Currently running DS2500's and they perform very well on the track, but im not really to hard ont he brakes, and for some reason i feel i need something a little better.

With an impending trip to the Ring in august, and half way through my 2500's (in just 3 months) im going to need another set.

Im sure 2 days at the ring is gonna chunk through a set, so i might as well get something rather good.

So.

DS3000
XP10
Pagid Blue
Performance Friction??

How do these perform. I would change them out for the journey there/back. so they are just for on track braking.

my DS2500 need a little warming up on the road, one of two stops is enough.

Advice welcome

Wouldnt want to spend too much more than 200, and it would be just for the fronts.

Might i add. Im going to keep a set of ds2500 's hopefully pick up a second hand set for road use. Swap out the pads for the track.

You don't say what calipers. I've used both Pagid RS42 (blue) and RS29 in AP 6 pots road and track. Both of these have a fair bit more bite than DS2500 and aren't any noisier or dusty. Both perfectly OK for road use, RS42 complies with regulation 90 for road use as per Pagid website, RS29 is is not advertised as compliant but I've had no probs on road, cold bite is more than adequete. Also Pagid website states pad materials are not compatible with each other and swapping around may degrade performance.

Ok Cool.

They are just normal subaru 4 pots.

If they work ok on the road then i wouldnt need to swap them over which would be good.

Noise is the only aspect i want to keep down. my bro's brembos with XP10's were stupidly squeaky.

I'm running PF 01 on the front and Z on the rear (with PF floating discs). Not so great when cold on the road but certainly improve when they get some heat in them.

Where is the best place to get some new pads/ cheapest?

I do intend on upgrading the brakes but not for some time yet. So just going to get another set of front pads to wear through.
