Opinoin on these, similar to Godspeed
Hi, I'm looking at this brake upgrade, just wondered what your opinions are? Seems a cheaper version to the godspeed conversion.
Subaru 345mm Big Brake Kit Impreza Legacy WRX STI on eBay, also Brake Components, Performance Tuning Parts, Car Tuning Styling, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 13-Jun-09 20:50:54 BST)
My only worry is the clearance under 17" alloys, as their a 345mm disc.
Thanks,Mit

Does look like a good deal - but not heard of anyone with them. To me the only worrying part is the 'centralising rings' sounds to me like the disks don't fit properly! Pretty sure you'll struggle to get these under 17s.

It looks as though the locating ring is there because the centre hole is larger than the Impreza hub , it also looks as though the wheel stud holes have been elongated to suit the Subaru PCD , it looks like a disc off another car modified to fit.
In our kits you get a small amount of overhang on the pads on the outside of the disc because of the different shape of the outside radius of a larger disc , with a larger disc again it will be even worse , we compensate for this by using a much wider pad than the standard shape pad , if you use a standard shape pad on a 345mm disc , I bet nearly a third of the pad wont be in contact with the disc , its all well and good having a brake kit to fill your wheels out , but if all the parts dont work properly its a waste of time.

Thanks for the replies, i'll give them a miss. I'd love your setup Ian, but i don't have the funds at the mo
Also, i have a new set of Mintex Extreme pads, front and rear to go on, and thought i may still be able to use them.
I'll fit the 294mm discs for now, but would you recomend grooved, drilled or both for a road car, never been on track, so won't see hi temps.
Also, is it worth fitting rear grooved/drilled discs, as i have the Extreme pads for the back to go on too.
I only have the the standard rear single pot calipers.
Thanks,Mit
