Default Which brake pads?

Guys,

Have bought some 4 pot front callipers form an STI for my 97 WRX. I have also bought the grooved vented 294mm discs.

What pads do you recomend? Obviously I need something to stand up to a good hammering but at the same time be good for normal road use. In other word Im not taking it on the track.

Not sure if the red stuff seems a bit heavy handed for my needs?

Cheers

Ben

EBC Yellow Stuff mate.
I had Ferodo DS2500's before but have been far more impressed with the Yellow Stuff compound, they certainly give me a lot more confidence under heavy braking than the Ferodos ever did, and cheaper too.

With the Ferodos I had a few heartstopping moments when I thought I wouldn't stop in time; haven't had those since the switch.

Ultimately it depends how hard you drive it, but IMHO even a mildly modded WRX needs better brakes than the standard cr*p.

No offence intended mate, but that's a mute point as the red stuff are only ever advertised as "fast road use" - yellow stuff are advertised as performance and track day pads, so it sounds more like a case of using something that wasn't designed for such hardcore use and reaping the results.

I have yellow stuff now and feel they're miles ahead of the Ferodos I had on before, and don't produce quite as much brake dust either. And cheaper by about £15 a set!
