New alloys for my 54 STi...
Currently have standard 17” gold alloys on my newly purchased 2004 STi UK with ppp.
I want to get new rims and tyres.
I’d like to go black to match the colour of the car with a pin-stripe line around the rim.
Anyone know whether the stripe can be professionally added after manufacture?
I’d also like to increase size (I assume 18” poses no problems like it didn’t on my classic turbo) but can I go for 19’s without compromising handling, performance too much?

I'm sure you can get a stripe added afterwards, but why not get some time attack-style wheels with the stripe already on there? You could easily make it brighter or thicker.
Dunno what style you like, but just as an example Rota Force Time Attack TSL MOTORSPORT | Subaru Saab Mitsubishi | parts | repair | servicing | performance tuning | UK
As a general rule (so there will always be exceptions out there), go for 'one up' to be safe.
Eg wheels 16->17, 17->18 etc, tyres 205->215, 215->225, 225->235 etc
18s on a newage should be fine, but clearance does depend on your brakes, springs, tyre width etc. Try and keep the total wheel circumference the same (so with bigger wheels and tyres reduce the sidewall size), otherwise your speedo and trip computer will be out. There are people with 19s on here too, but I'd expect ride and handling to be compromised to some degree. Everyone has different views on what counts as an acceptable ride.
I'm waiting for my 18s so no doubt others can give you more details. Good luck!

Very nice - thanks guys.
I guess if I found a body shop they would probbably put the stripe on for me.
Rickya - are you running 18's or 19's (I assume your car is like your avatar)?

In the meantime, I don't suppose you know what psi I should be running in the 17's I have on now? It's difficult to find any info on the web.
Is there a FAQ for new agers?

Thanks guys.
I pumped up to 33 front and 28.5 back last night and the change was amazing (the previous owner had 28.5 all round!)
There is quite a bit of weight in the boot due to ICE so should I increase or decrease psi in rear?
Dunx - thanks for pics - I am thinking 18's in black - possibly as below - select against the car in Java Black:
2004 Subaru Impreza WRX STI
I'd like to get a pink stripe (to match the sti logos) around the rim but think it'd be a bit much with a polished silver rim as well.

Ok - so I can't get Bottichelli's or the Superturismo's that I was looking at - seems there is a supply problem with OZ at the moment... anyone know more?
I'm looking for a multispoke alloy - 18's I think (I think 19's will be just too big & too expensive).
I'd like black and really have no idea where to start or what to look at.
Can anyone help please???

Right - Update - the Scarab blacks don't fit.
I am now down to the following 18" choices:
Kato miura
Dotz Shuriken (black and silver)
Kei Pulse (but apparently only in silver face)
Prodrive PS7's
Can anyone give me any advice on the quality of the brands?
Thanks
Pilg.
