Brake pads for 06 STi
Hiya - I'm sure this question gets asked loads, but I can't find anything specific to the Hawkeye STi.
My front pads are getting pretty low, and the Subaru price for a pair of standard pads is >£200 (about 280 fitted), there must be cheaper options !!
I don't take the car on track, it's just road-use so I don't want track focused pads, but obviously decent pads for fast road use and the occasional trip to Milbrook.
I've heard good things about Mintex 1144, but not in relation to this car....
Any advice welcomed as they'll need sorting pretty soon!
Also, how easy is it to change the pads?

Very easy to change the pads! I did my discs and pads, which requires removing the callipers etc, and I did it in under 1.5 hours.

I'd go for Ferodo DS2500's or Performance Friction pads. Speak to Godspeed, AS Performance or BOB'5 on here for good prices. I went for the Performance Friction ones.

For spirited road use Mintex 1144 will be OK, but 1155 will stand a bit more abuse. Similarly Ferodo DSPF (were DS2000) or DS2500. I'v always rated Pagid RS421, and PF pads seem to perform brilliantly in my mates STi.
As others have said, they're a doddle DIY job.

It wasn't a problem on the road, but when tracking, it felt like the front right disc was seriosly warped.
An expensive lesson!
Buyer beware
