Question

My ignorance is total..... but I know what I don't like! Which is gold-coloured wheels, the only (minor) downside on my forthcoming STi - UK! Are these desirable enough to have a decent PX value, and what 18" wheels in the mainstream UK catalogues have the same dimensions, so allowing direct fitting without fiddling with brakes etc??

TIA,

Phil Harrison

1) One set has sold for £750 so far

2) Nothing much fits - Compomotive MO's *might*, but little else. ScoobySport/IWD have one coming up, Prodrive are developing two wheels for it - a P1 style 10 spoke, and another seven spoke one

Thumbs up

Phil, the Prodrive 18" are available in champagne gold - a much more subtle colour than the "in your face" standard wheel, and also in a Titanium finish, which is very similar to the wheels on the the latest BMW M3.
I've got the Prodrive 18"s on my car, I'll e-mail you a piccy

Cool

Thanks John: They look wicked - are the piccys on the net somewhere for others to see??

I'd been thrown by a question in another forum.... of course the standard STi wheels are 17", not 18". So do you (or Dave, if he's still watching) know of 17" in mainstream UK Catalogue which are direct substitutes. I think I understand that the 'offset' (which is where my ignorance comes into it) is unusual on the STi Wheels??

TIA

Phil

Phil

I'm still here

I don't know of an alternative 17 that will go straight on the STi.

The wheel offset at ET53 (but measures ET55) is not unusual, being the same as the MY01/2 WRX. The problem is the 145mm thick Brembo caliper. Wheel spoke shape and clearance is the issue, not offset (ET).

The easiest thing for you would be to get the originals powder coated in silver.
