Anybody heard about these new tyres - meant to be much better in the wet than the old ones (not difficult!). They are being fitted to new TVR's according to a mag I've read.

I'd be very sceptical after their last attempt the ZZ1's. I'd wait until more is known about them.........

No wonder TVR's are supposed to be a handful in the wet, with Avons as standard fit....

All TVR's are fitted with TOYO's as standard,i spoke with a guy at the Oulton park meet last week who is doing his best to shred the Avon tyres he now has on (brand new) as he thinks they are seriously lethal, really bad in the wet he said.

Angry

I'll tell u how bad they are in the wet. 5-10mph round a greasy roundabout = terminal understeer I have to apply almost another half of lock to cancel it out, otherwise straight on into the kerb then boot it to put the rear in place, then u get oversteer lol You can of course just back off the throttle But this happens @ ~ 10mph ffs!

Zippy - was this for the new ZZ3 or the old ZZ1? The TVR apear in a Avon advert promoting the new tyres. TVR would not promote them if they were that crap......or would they for the money!?

Same question for bioforger?

sorry yes the zz1's. The zz3 might be much improved, but I doubt it when they comeout with such a sh1te 1st version. They must be better in the wet than the zz1, if theyre promoted on TVR's, but yes I agree they could just be after advertising cash

Question

Bioforger - how did dialling in more lock help reduce understeer? Surely you should reduce lock in an effort to get the front tyres to regain grip?

Mungo by backing off the throttle, grip came back slightly, applied more lock then booted it Like I said, if I reduced the lock I would have gone into the kerb
