Question

Does anyone have experience with Black Diamond Combi disks? What pads have you run, and how do you rate the performance / life of the disk?

Thanks,
Nick

I've used their grooved discs with mintex pads. After about 8mths and about 10,000km they've probably lost about 1mm. Assuming that they were originally 24mm thk and the minimum safe thickness is 22mm, it means i only get 20,000km and max 1.5-2yrs out of them.

I don't consider myself to be hard on brakes. To be honest though, I think the pads are too hard for the discs. Or maybe I am expecting too much from the discs?

bb,

Mintex pads are notoriously hard on disks!

That's not too bad; remember, discs are classed as a 'consumable', and although they will normally out-last a couple off sets of pads, they will wear eventually.

We've had virtually NO TROUBLE at all since we started selling the Black Diamond discs.

Question

Mike,
I sent you an email yesterday with some product queries, but I've not heard from you yet. Is the email address on your scoobynet profile correct?

Cheers,
Nick
