I wonder if you could advise. I have issue with the driver front wheel since the pad were changed last year. The allow was often hot even after a short drive and my fuel consumption has significantly increased by 10 to 20%. My local garage checked regularly the wheel balance, readjusted it but the problem was never really fixed as it would come back again. Last month the disc was red hot after 10 miles driving, and fuming. They changed the calliper and it was fine for a short while.
Now the wheel is hot again when I drive, it happens often but not systematically.
Any idea of the possible problem and how to fix it? Have you seen it before?

Maybe a wheel bearing?

if it wasnt the bearing it might be now!
...heat may have melted the grease out of it
...lift the car and spin the wheel, this'll tell you whether its dragging...if it is, unbolt the caliper top and remove pads from the wheel spin the hub and see if it still drags
if it doesnt the yer pads/caliper are the problem
if it does, then it sounds like wheel bearing

or take it to a garage and ask 'em to sort it!
