I think they are great and they were a £1500 option from prodrive!

Thumbs up

Calipers good, one piece original rotors not, but can be sorted with a two piece bell & rotor with AP or Performance Friction rotors e.g.

Sorted by Zen Performance (these have PF rotors)

No problem

Bell and rotor - disc/rotor are same thing

PF discs - £217 each - AP 330 X 28mm will also fit these bells and were slightly more expensive but I'm pleased with PF so far. I can always try AP next time
AP bell bolts £30
Bells - aircraft alloy and were originally made as one offs so weren't cheap at £350+ but they get reused each time when the discs are worn out.

I would guess that Zen can probably make cadcam copies of my bells for a more competitive price given that they are next door to a metal working place. Man to speak to is Paul at Zen 0845 0559366.

So a fair lay out initially - £800 odd in total, but for £400odd quid each time from now on I should get better braking, less heat transfer into hubs, hopefully longer life, and at a price which compares favourably with the oem 330mm discs (and we mustn't forget the tart appeal of the "prodrive" calipers and look of the two pieces . The bells can be anodised different colours as well if you want).

I went through 5 sets of the one piece rotors in 50,000 miles and in each case they warped and even clean cracked through in one case. Alcon do produce excellent high end kit, but my personal opinion is that perhaps they were caught out by how enthusiastically road car/track car users would be using these one pieces in that they didn't expect temps in the 550c+ bracket.

CDF racing are looking at making alloy bells and they also sell PF parts so that could be interesting when they come up with a price.

There is a thread in the GB section.
