Default MY03 STI OEM Rear Discs & Pads Price EEEK!!!

Hi Guys,

I'm due to MOT my STI early march and at my last service the garage said it would need replacement rear discs and pads for around that time, so i decided to go and find out what the damage would be today with the expectation of looking at paying approx £300-350 and to my utter amazement my local main dealer said they were just under £700!!!

Now i know what i was getting into when buying an STI i.e. high prices for replacement parts etc but £700 for rear discs and pads is just absolutely stupid.

Can anyone point me in the right direction for some decent quality alternatives at a more decent price. I've been told BluePrint ADL are ok but i've never heard of them, does anyone have any experience with these. I can get them for £200 for both discs and pads.

Any help/advice would be appriciated.

Cheers

Cookie

Backs don't do a vast amount, I'd suggest cheap discs and std. or better pads.

imho

P.S. OEM discs are £300 !

Thats a good price for the discs. Cheap standard discs from carparts-direct are £177. Part of the reason rear discs look expensive compared to other cars is the combined brake drum for the handbrake.

Try AS Performance...

They sorted me out with a great price and fast service for brakes on my old WRX.

If you don't want anything uprated and are happy with OEM you could try your local motor factors.

Another vote for Alyn. Get all my brake stuff from him. Good for advice and parts.

Sorry for not replying guys, not been at the computer for a few days.

Thank you everyone who has replied, its given me plenty to think about and i've got plenty of time to do so. The MOT is not till march, and they are not desperate i.e. need to do now.

I'll do a little research on all the suggestions and i'll let you know what i go for.

Again cheers
