Folks,
A while ago Martin Stirling was kind enough to arrange a group buy for Hi Spec brakes.
I went for a set of 4-pots gripping 335mm discs. Nothing too huge, being the shy and disceet chap I am
Here they are:
Anyway, they are really rather good. To the extent that when some clown pulled into the right lane of a dual carriageway, saw me coming and *stopped* instead of getting the hell out of the way, I managed to brake about 5 car lengths quicker than the BMW 330 I was, um, doing a comparison test with. We may have been speeding a little, although I absolutely would not condone dicing with other cars on the Queen's Highway. Oh no, not me.
In fact, I thought the airbag was going to go off it braked so hard. I also thought it may well deck the front spoiler and/or lift the back of the ground. Certainly the back end started to float the way it does when you brake hard on a bike, just before pulling a stoppie
Interestingly enough (and I'm sure someone somewhere will tell me why) the ABS doesn't kick in so early now either.
The only problem was that Hi Spec had been supplied with a batch of incorrect braided hoses which didsn't fit. Not their fault and they sorted it instantly and without fuss.
Overall, huge thumbs up for the kit, top marks to Hi Spec for customer service and big thanks to Martin for sorting it.
SB. A very happy bunny indeed

Lucky bastrd I'm still waiting for mine! Was supposed to get 'em fitted today but Fiona accidentally dropped my bell (Doh!) and they have to wait for some more to be anodised.
I'm so glad everyone's happy with their brakes, it was all a bit of a gamble as none of us had any previous experience of them.
Hi Spec - the thinking man's AP?

Martin - any chance of another group buy at all?! I can't quite stretch to normal priced AP/Brembos, and I've been following the Hi Specs comments quite eagerly. They sound like a good buy.

I actually got round to unpacking mine yesterday and they do look mightily impressive.
Cant wait to get them fitted next month.
Thank's again Martin for setting it up.
Cheers Paul.
