Cool

Having recently fitted an AP 6 Pot Kit to my P1 and bedding it all in properly, I am finding that after a blast round the lanes and after 'cool down' of 2 or 3 further road miles the disc brakes give off very loud cracking noises when the car stops. It sounds like the disc is splitting but careful examination shows they aren't. Should I be concerned or should I allow longer cool down periods? anyone else experienced the same?

It could be that the fit between the discs and alloy beel is a bit on the tight side, and when it cools the rate of contraction is different, hence the cracks.

Dont think thats the answer, the cracking is coming from the outside edge of the disc diameter near the vanes. Although on another line of thought there is a little vibration through the steering wheel on initial braking but I think thats a separate matter and the disc needs trueing.
