Exclamation DIY fit of Brembo's?

Got myself some Brembo's :-)

Just wondering if they are easily fitted by myself? I have no problems fitting Discs and pads and after all its just 2 bolts to put the new caliper on?!

The only grey area is the bleeding of brakes.. never done this before. I have some braided hoses to.. wondering if this is something i should leave to a garage or have a go myself

any fitting guides anywhere?

cheers

Leon

Depends on how confident you are: remember you only get one chance with brakes, LOL.

I've done mine, Godspeed Brembos and braided hoses on the front, STi Brembos and braided hoses on the rear, bled it with the aid of my lad.

It's not rocket science, but DO be aware that brake pipes and bleed nipples can seize, so DO have the right tools!

If you are brave enough - just remember the calipers are handed - the bleed nipples at the top!!! Sounds obviouse, but i bet many have fooked up. LOL.

Cool

Got them done on Saturday :-) look much better and Brake MUCH better than standard. Got charged over £30 for brake fluid... surely its not that much! :-(

Do brembos need warming up? as they dont seem to have consistant feel. most of the time they are amazing but now and then they dont feel the same, i had been driving on the A50 for a while earlier then pulled off and braked, felt slightly spongey compared to most of the time.. it appears once you have braked a couple of times they are very good.. ie bite well and good feel :-)

will have another play on the way home :-)

It depends on what pads you are using?

£30 is not unreasonable for a garage to charge for fluid (for good stuff). You could have saved yourself a £10-15 quid by supplying your own.

They are the standard brembo discs and pads as these were off the previous car, I will need to change them in the next few months i imagine and will go for DS2500's. Also due to the calipers coming off a later sti the stone guards didnt fit.. is this a problem and should i get some that do or is it ok to run without?

cheers

I think the lip on the stone guard is just straightened to make it fit.
