Guys,
What are people using for brake fluid? Mine need bleeding and thinking of changing to maybe AP or Millers racing fluid.
Any input welcome.

Guys,
Sorry for the late reply.
Thank you for the input. I've heard Motul is pretty good stuff to be honest. I think I have DOT 4 in there at the mo. It's just not cutting the mustard for me.
I'm pretty sure I have some how got a air block in the system? But the only way is to bleed the buggers and re-fill it. D'oh!!

brake fluid
When I fitted goodridge hoses to my V7 with Brembo's I used silicone fluid which I got from Demon Tweeks. As it is thinner than normal fluid bleeding was a pain but as it will NEVER need changing and won't damage the paint work I felt it was worth the effort. All I would say is do all the work you want to do before using it as it is somewhat more expensive. The next job will be the clutch once I have fitted the new flexi pripe. Steve

ATE Super Blue Racing fluid is good stuff and at £12 per litre it's alot cheaper than Motul Racing 600 at £20 per litre. Both have very simular boiling points.
Motul Racing 600 ...............Dry 585 (307*C)........Wet 421 (216*C)
ATE Super Blue Racing.........Dry 536 (280*C)........Wet 392 (200*C)

The ones above are great for track etc as long as you replace the fluid regularly etc, but its overkill for a road car where for most people brake fluid is fit and forget for 2 years apart from the odd top up.
I use Motul 5.1 for my daily driver that does a few trackdays and the odd sprint / ring trip a year. I do quick bleed and top up every now and then - with a full change every 2 years. Works for me.

To be honest, for everyday road use, are you really going to feel the difference?
I recently replaced the fluid in my STi with Castrol Response super DOT4 It's a bit of a pain with 2 nipples per caliper but I used the Gunson Easybleed system which made the job easier. I used just over a litre to make sure the system was purged of the old stuff and filled with new.

Hey guys,
In the end I used the AP Racing 5.1 fluid.
James of GRD was a legend and said bring it over and did the whole system etc during his lunch break. Top fella that man.
It's nice to have a pedal that responds for a change.
Thanks for your input again all.
