rear brembos
Hello and good evening fellow scoobys
Can some of you guys give me some advice on fitting new discs and pads to the rear of my 03 STi.
i understand that there is a handbrake set up within the middle of the disc ?
I guess changing the discs and pads will be fairly straight forward , however i am a little worried about popping of the
disc and springs flying everywhere....
my handbrake is fairly trash and i was planning on replacing the shoes or what ever is inside there.
I have only ever replaced pads before on the brembo set up, chipping out the pins replacing the pads fairly easy.
what am i going to expect when i remove the rear discs ? is there some kind of adjustments and am i going to be hammering at the back of the
disc for an eternity ?
any help will be with the greatest of thanks.
Regards.
Chris.

Hi
The correct way to adjust the handbrake is on the shoes , and taking up the slack on the cables inside the car.
At the back of the backplate is a rubber grommet , remove this and inside is a castle nut , you need to adjust this up with a flat head screwdriver , its a bit fidley but is easy to do.
This is a drawing explaining what you do
Cheers Ian
