Improve your driving style and you barely need brakes, plus you could be significantly faster and much safer.

My first 2 sets of pads in my Scoob lasted approx 7k miles each. After learning Roadcraft driving the last set saw me out 'til I sold it some 35k+ later and were still not half worn. The benefit is with you for life too, so you don't lose it when you buy your next car.

Ian Godney of godspeedbrakes is setting up a group buy soon. You should be able to get a set of uprated discs and pads for under £200.
If you can't wait for that, you could get some new standard discs and get better pads. The best seem to be Pagid Blue, Ferodo DS2500 (both about £150ish) or Mintex M1144 (about £90, but very dusty).
If you can find them, Carbone Lorraine pads are supposed to be awesome, but very noisy. Only Demon Tweeks sell them and you have to email them for prices/availability.
