MY99 front brake upgrade info ?
Any suggestions for a modestly priced front brake upgrade for a MY99 WRX that currently has the floating 2 pot calipers and discs of about 270mm dia, are the Subaru 4 pot calipers better, will they fit ? and if so what size discs do they take ?
I have been trawling the posts for info on what I can put on this car but am just getting more confused.

Hi
Yes the subaru 4 pots are much better than the old 2 pots , The 4 pot are a direct fit onto the earlier car , the discs are also larger , they are 294mm.
The only thing you need to make sure of is that they fit behind your wheels , they will not fit under the early 16" wheels.
I can supply you a pair of fully reconditioned calipers ,brand new grooved 294mm discs , and pads for £350 delivered.
Hope this helps
Cheers Ian

Thanks for the info, can I contact you at 'Godspeed'
The car is on 18 inch rims, the 308mm conversion sounds nice but I dont think the housekeeping can spare it at the moment.

I'm confused then, because myblackwrx on the MY98 Impreza brake fade thread said that he swapped to 5 spoke 16" wheels that look like mine in order to get the 4 pots to fit. Are your 4 pots different?
