Default Need help with wheel size's

Hi All

I hope someone will be able to help me. I am looking at getting a new set of alloys for my GDA Bugeye, so I know the PCD is 5x100, but what is the maximum width I can go for, looking at 8" or 8.5" rims really rather than a 7" or 7.5". I don't really need a help with the style or maker just the sizing of the wheels.

What would be an appropriate offset for an 8" and also an 8.5" rim be, with a good brake clearance, I would like to push the wheel face further out than it is now, but still keep it within the lines of car so no mad negative cambers. Any issues with rubbing if using above wheel sizes?

Finally what size tyre would go with an 8 or 8.5" rim?

Any and all help really appreciated

Generally get wheels that are designed for your car.

These tend to be 8x18 with an offset of around ET48ish or so.

Tyres should be 225/40/18

Thanks for responce, and I have looked at most major online retailers for impreza wheels and a vast majority only stock upto 7.5" wide hence the post. Also tried using the search feature and ended up more confusied.

I am surprised that there isn't more hard info 8" wide fitment on here.

I know nothing about this subject myself and asked a similar question earlier on another thread about offset sizes etc for my 03 Blobeye. Someone replied and said they had a 53 offset on an 18" Prodrive rim. No idea how much this matters?
