Default Goodyear F1 Tyres

Hi All,
Just been told by a Goodyear dealer that F1 tyres now are all made in Thailand and nil from Germany.
Question is are they any differences from tyres made in Thailand and Germany apart from price difference in term of quality?

I thought that the Thailand made ones did not have the E mark making them illegal on Uk roads.

My set were made in China as they had just run out of German made ones. According to whats written on the sidewalls, they are a totally different construction, but when someone from the company was asked if they were inferior, they avoided the question and just said they were both EU approved.

Just make sure they have the E mark (it would be illegal to sell them if they don't). Whether they are as good as the German ones is anyone's guess, though. I've not been too impressed with my GSD3s in slippery conditions, I'll go for the Asymmetrics next time.

Hi Mark,
Appreciate if you can give me more details regarding "E mark" as you have mentioned.I have checked my F1 Eagle GS-D3 tyres, the only E mark I found is "e13" on the side wall which is Made in Germany. Mine now are all worn out and need replacement but Thailand made F1 Eagle GS-D3 tyres are available.

Yes, the e13 is the 'E' mark you need. It is in a circle and/or square with a long number after it. Check that the thailand tyres have this, otherwise they are not legal in Europe.
