According to the email I received from Geoff, the standard price for the Monster 4 kit with 310mm discs is 735 pounds. Hopefully he is cool with me posting the price on this board. Lots cheaper than AP/Brembo.

Cool

As you should know, the Hi Spec group buy is now finished. Despite this, I have had several mails asking about the buy. Being the nice guy that I am, I have spoken to Hi Spec and they have agreed to offer a small discount to any Scooby owners mentioning my name and Scoobynet.

Although Hi Spec kits are still fairly unkown, I can tell you that their monster calipers are already taking the world by storm!

Happy braking..

Markus

Movit might be not known in the UK but in Germany/Switzerland it's one of the biggest seller of Porker brake stuff if not the biggest. And Porkes brakes have quite a reputation.

Check out following pics

http://www.movit.de/rahmen/subaru.htm

First GT3/Turbo Kit fitted on Scoobs. Especially for them Movit painted the callipers black with the Subaru logo on it.

No compromises with Movit

Markus -- have you actually bought the Movit kit then (I must have missed that thread... )? After you've had it fitted, we want opinions and pictures

Martin, I am very interested. How do you like your kit so far? Do the 310mm discs fit under stock 16" wheels?

Adam, are they the stock 16"x7" +53mm, 6-spoke wheels? What are your initial impressions of the brakes? I am awaiting an email from Hi-Spec. Cheers.

not to hijack the thread

yup, I've purchased the movit kit, upped the spec from the 996 to the GT3 calipers, so should look similar to the stuff posted on scoobymikes kit.

might be the first or second person in the UK to have it fitted to a scoob, which would be nice.

rest assured, pics of fitting and opinions will be very forthcoming once they are fitted.

Hi Trent

They are stock 16x6 53mm but these are the limited edn. 'Rays'
... mail me for pic

Initial impressions, bearing in mind they're still bedding in.
Much better initial bite, a lot more re-assuring with the first application of the middle pedal. Much better 'feel' and they look fantastic !!

Cheers

Adam, I'm talking about these wheels:

Obviously these aren't my brakes! Sounds like they should fit fine. I just wish Hi Spec would email me back!

Trent - I think they are actually 335mm!! The Hi Spec stuff is really nice. One mechanic guy that I know said he would hang their brake calipers on his wall as they are a work of art (I won't publish his name, to spare his blushes )

If anyone is thinking about buying these, then don't hesitate, Hi Spec will supply all the usual quality stuff like AP, Brembo, Pagid etc, but some of their own stuff is just as good and will probably cost you a fair deal less.

Hi Trent,

if you are interested in Hi Spec stuff then I would recommend that you telephone them, as they are only a very small company and are totally rushed off their feet at the moment. You will find that Geoff is a very pleasant chap and he really inspires confidence in his products.

Good luck,

MS

R 5C0DBY,

I'm waiting for my 355mm discs to arrive soon for my P1, they're the biggest they do I think.

Will post a pic when I get 'em..

They are really coming into the zone now (bedded in!) I bought the brakes through the group buy that Martin arranged. I thinl that the standard price is still miles below AP/Brembo set up. Pleasant characters to chat to.

They are 335mm and the EBC green pads are really good and virtually no dust (Yeah less time cleaning them!!)

Enjoy folks !

Cool

Trent,

I decided to go for the Mintex 1144, an excellent pad designed for road use. Go for the 1155 if you're gonna take the car on track. I'm not too convinced about the Green/Redstuff pads, Mintex or Ferrodo are better if you ask me.

Are you going for the Hi Spec kit then? I'm still waiting for mine..

Happy braking,

MS

Martin, yes, I have pretty much decided on the Monster 4 kit with the 310mm discs. It appears to be the best bang for the buck 16" wheel kit available at this time. Mintex 1155s? I'll have to do some research on those. Cheers,

- Trent
