Rear discs rusted...
Hello.
Both of my rear discs on my UK classic have a large build up of rust on the outside 1/3's of the disc (so only the centre portion of the disc is actually clean). Obviously this means they are not doing much work.
Does anyone know what is likely to cause this? Is it siezed rear calipers? When reversing it after not moving the car for a few days, it has made a loud "clunk", which i am certain was the handbrake sticking. Could this cause it?
Also, what am i likely to need to replace? I am going to try and free up the callipers if they have siezed, but will the discs and pads need changing also? Is any special tool needed to wind the calipers?
Any thoughts appreciated.
