Default I want to take off my current calipers and spray them

Hi,

Is it easy to take them off?

Could anyone point me in the direction of instructions please?

Thanks

Depends which ones you have?

TBH, most folk don't spray anyway. Simply wire brush off the worst of the rust and muck, then paint with Smoothrite, available in many different colours.

Two coats at approx 20 minute intervals, and a caliper is done and the wheel back on within an hour

You REALLY cannot see the brush marks either.

Not if it's the raised lettering, you don't.

Paint it base colour, then pick it out with a smaller brush in a different colour, or paint the top of a wood block thickly with the second colour, then press it onto the letters, repeating as necessary.

I've heard of some folk who have used a sponge offcut for the letters, but if you do, don't press too hard

If you do paint the calipers on the car can you actually get to the whole caliper?

I got a small grinder with a wire brush on it and give the calipers a good clean up first, and then painted the whole caliper with a few light coats of 'post box red' which a local auto-factor mixed up for me.

I then let the calipers dry totally and sanded down the raised subaru logo with a sanding block. If you're careful you wont mark the caliper doing this as the logo is raised a fair bit from the caliper.

I sanded the logo until shiney and then sprayed the complete caliper with a tin of lacquer to help keep them shiney....one year later and they're as good as the day i done them!!

90% of it, and the bits you can't get at are under bolt heads etc, or can't be seen either
