Default Front Brakes Upgrade

Hello Folk's

Looking for advice on front disc upgrade on a MY98 S Reg UK Spec . I believe the callipers are the standard 4 pots any recommendations and what sort of price would be grateful.

Hmmmmmmmmm, if it's "S" reg and UK, it's likely to have the dreaded 2-pots

You can tell, easily, though, by looking at the calipers. The 4-pots have "SUBARU" in raised letters down them. 2-pots are plain.

Either way, you could do a LOT worse than to look here:

I have been told that they are 4 pots. Is this good if they are?.

Yes mate, because Godspeed do a kit which uses those calipers with bigger discs.

Makes it cheaper not to have to buy new calipers, (which I had to with my 98 car, but now have Brembos).

DO check though: only cars with SUBARU down the calipers are 4-pot. Mine certainly wasn't, and it's a late 98 car.

Have a look at the website I posted for prices, details etc, or send Ian an e-mail, he's very approachable and extremely knowledgeable.

Hi
If you have 16" wheels , then you can only fit the standard sized discs , I can supply you grooved 294mm discs and Carbonne lorraine pads for £200 delivered to your door , this set up will be about the best you can fit , the pads are awesome , so good I have just fitted them in my rally car.

If you have 17" wheels , I can supply you a 335mm disc kit , which uses 2 piece discs and bells , larger than standard pads , fitting kit for £595.

Cheers Ian
