Default Which Pagid- Black or Blue?

I know this has been done to death before "fast road use=black" & track use "blue"...... But Im still not sure!

Car is a MY06 Spec C with std Sti Brembo brakes

-Manily road use
-Maybe 3 trackdays in year. Bearing in mind discs are std so will Blue pads work well on std discs?
- Car is driven to work 5 days a week but is only a 3.5 mile journey, so brake pads will not warm up much in that time.

So not sure whether Pagid 4.2.1 Black or Blue will be suitable for my needs??

Thanks

I would say black (RS4-2-1) for your application. If it was mainly track with some road use then blues (RS4-2). But both will be OK for you.

They will both work with standard discs, they will both be OK from cold.

I've got a pagid guide to compounds page, application, temps, friction levels, sort of stuff, which I scanned in from the GPR catalogue last year. If you want a copy PM me an email address and I'll reply and attach it.

Thanks for reply mate I think I will take your informed advice & go for the Black ones. Iv read up on various threads on here & would think they are better than the Ferrodo DS2500. Also I wouldnt mind trying Endless SSV/SSS, but not many people have tried these out yet so might be better to stick to tried & tested.

If you're only doing 3 trackdays a year, why not run Blacks/standard pads most of the time, and swap in some Blues for your trackdays? It's a pretty quick job, I just see it as part of my trackday prep.
