Time for a TAROX brake upgrade!
Been looking at the 10 pot TAROX brake upgrade for my Scooby WRX SW (2005).
Even thought it is a bit expensive it seems like the thing to have, and it seems like they will fit my standard 17" rims!
Thinking of upgrading front and rear.
Anyone here had any experience with TAROX brake upgrades?
Ta

i have the tarox ten pot kit on my classic sti wagon, the kit is very good, but needs to be very hot for pads to work consistently, plus the pads are an old mercedes van pad design so nobody makes aftermarket pads, mintex or ferodo ds2500 would be nice, cant fault the calipers and rotors though.

i have the 6 pots on mine and i think they are fantastic over the original 4 pots. 10 pots seem a bit overkill, but i think they are slightly cheaper than the 6 pots. You can get ferodo and mintex pads, they just need modifying. The arox ones do need a bit of warming up. Speak to API engines, they sold me my kit for £1000 plus vat. well worth the money

they give a very good firm pedal with little travel. They do work from cold, but need a little more pressure till they get some heat.
As i say, speak to David from API. If you on a budget, then they are great value. If money no object, then spend the extra and go for AP`s, but they are quite a bit more.

You'll be severely limited for pad choice with the Tarox kit, as said, if you're spending that kind of £££ go the little extra for AP's (4pot 330 BTW are superb without adding undue weight). Also pad choice is huge, meaning replacements are cheaper, compared to the tarox pads which will be expensive..!

i had tarox 6 pots on a nissan sunny gtir, they were rubbish in my opinion. HAd the prodrive/alcon 4 pots on my scoob and they were better than the tarox (not a fair comparison I know but I guess I am saying there is better)

Your better off using the std gold brembo's, miles ahead in terms of quality.
End of the day its your money, but 2nd hand AP's, Brembo's or Alcons would be my preference over Tarox.
Heard lots of stories of flexing calipers, leaking seals and seized pots.
Your call, its an expensive investment.
