Default excessive pitting/mot time

with the car being in the garage for 4 months waiting on a new engine fitted its been standing, yesterday it failed its mot as the OS front disk was excessively pitted, mot guy said it was due to it sitting doing nothin so long.Brakes arent that old were all replaced under 5 k ago at subaru (ouch) and have plenty of life left is there any way to get rid of the excess pitting with wire wool or anything or is it a case of more new disks?

Give the car a really good blast using the brakes very hard if they will clean up that will probably the only way to do it.
Can’t see them been that bad if only stood for 4 months in a garage

Could clean them up with a bit of emery paper or just give them a bit of hardish use as rbaz suggests. Remember rust volume IIRC is 7 times greater than volume of metal eaten and always looks worse than it is. I suspect your MOT tester is being unreasonable, after all whats pitting against so many discs that are drilled and/or grooved in the first place. Presume they work OK which is the main point.

mot tester myself, if ur discs are just rusty from sitting round for 4 months, he cant fail it, it they are pitted then he can, should just pass and advise if rusty from standing, sounds like his old women give him the hump so his taking it out on you ,
