Ive done a quick google and they seem to fit, but if your car is lowered in anyway no chance as it rubs the arches. I had to go down to 215/40/17 to clear my arches. Thats with a 40m to 50mm drop in ride height
If your profile is correct at this time, looks like maybe a no for you. My I suggest saving up for a better brand of tyres aswell. Those Nankang NS-II are nasty cheap rubbish. You will notice the world of difference with some quality tyres put on. Have a look here to get an idea of prices
Tyres for PASSENGER CARs very cheap, bargains, have a look and save

Thanks a lot for the replies guys....
Yeah, the whole point would be to upgrade to Eagle F1's... I already have 215/40/17's on, and in the process of upgrading, I'd like to eek out a bit more tyre width if possible - hence the 225's!
Black Circles are doing a special offer on 225/45/17 F1's at the mo, which are cheaper than 215/45's or 215/40's!
Ha! The only reason I've got these 'plastic', hard-as-nails Nankang crap on is that, at the time of getting my alloys, I needed tyres as well and that's what they came with (for a cheap all-in price).
That's most annoying about the ride height... The previous owner has fitted uprated dampers, springs and pillow ***** all round , and at a guess I'd say the car is only about an inch lower. Will this still be an issue if I were to go for the 225/45's?...

Regardless, I'm guessing they're dodgey in the wet, no?
Any comments would help me in my tyre choice for when I do upgrade ...

Steve, are the R888's any good at normal/fast-road speed? I've read that they're only good at trackdays (it's a trackday marketed tyre, after all) where the average speed is much higher and a lot more constant, thus putting proper heat into the compound to make them grip properly?
Regardless, I'm guessing they're dodgey in the wet, no?

Cheers. Sound great in the dry!
However, when it rains, I don't like to press on anyhow, but are you saying that they are lethal in the wet or simply have bugger all grip at even very slow cornering speeds? Presumably they aquaplane easily too?
If it's just a case of them simply being 'mediocre' in the wet, then that doesn't particularly bother me (given the dry performance trade-off!) - but if they are a liability, then Ill look elsewhere...
