Default Toyo Tyres

Has anyone recently purchased Toyo R888 or Toyo T1R at a discounted/good price recently?

Looking for 215/45/17 and 225/40/18 respectively.

Please provide details of where you got them from.

Thanks

Hi

thanks for that, seem to be an excellent price. Does anyone know the difference between T1R and T1S. What would be more suited to a bugeye STI. Do not need ultimate wet weather grip as it hardly ever rains in Cyprus.

Just seen that the T1R is the replacement for the T1S

For some reason I thought the S was a different compound and that the R was better overall?

Perhaps it is and they have just improved it?

Anyway I have them on mine and compared to F1s that were there before, they seem to be as good grip wise and wear more slowly - definitely get them again.

the toyo t1R is a direct replacement for the t1S, the T1S had a soft sidewall so toyo released the T1R with the R meaning reinforced

T1-S also has a softer compound tyre. I was not impressed with the S even by my boring driving standards.
I tend to get the R now.
Although i have thought about the new semi-slick they have brought out, but i cannot find the bugger on the net now.

Additional difference is that the T1R's pattern does not extend across the full width of the tyre - they've made channels at either side of the tyre to supposedly cope better with dispersing surface water.

The T1S doesn't have these.

Ring Camskill for R888 prices as they don't like to put it on their web-site...
Got mine at a superb price.

Checked it again:

215/40 17s

Cart ex vat
£ 54.94
Carriage(£9.45) ex vat, UK Mainland
£ 8.04
VAT on above(at 17.5%)
£ 11.02
Shopping Cart Total Inc Vat
£ 74.00

So you were right, but the all in price is still £74, as opposed to £67 from Camskill

Talking of 215/45 - Camskill have got Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3's on offer for £75 delivered. Considering the F1 asymmetrics don't come in this size, I went and bought these - XL sidewalls too
