Uk '99 brake upgrade
Hi all
what are the current recommendations for brake upgrades on a UK '99 with 16 inch rims? - I have Prodive discs, but they're nackered.

Retaining the OEM 4pots then look at grooved discs from a number of sources.
Pads wise its a mine field but you really can't go wrong with the leading names and brands such as Ferodo DS2500's, Pagid and EBC Yellowstuff.
Upgraded brakelines, fluid and possibly a master cylinder support bracket on a classic will help.

Thanks for the reply, Richie.
I am looking for discs than can be used for track days, but don't cost too much.
Anyone used Tarox discs before? - If so, which discs did you go for?
Thanks
Sonu

I also have a MY99 and am soon to have a remap, before I do this I have upgraded my brakes. I chose Black Diamond cross drilled and grooved discs and Black Diamond Predator pads. I have heard drilled discs can crack, but I use mine hard and have had no problems with them at all. Total cost was £235, I fitted them myself, only took 30mins, very easy. I'm sure you will get several opinions on here, just get what you like the sound of, good luck.

I run a MY99 with the original 16's, including trackdays. Have used TarOx 20-groove and EBC turbo-groove discs, both worked well with the usual slight noise due to the grooves, but eventually cracked both on track. Currently running Nitrac discs but only done a wet trackday so far. Pad wise I run Mintex 1155's (prefer them to DS2500's), not tried Pagids yet.

Got a MY00, wanted to do similar so I went for a Godspeed larger disc upgrade. Same calipers, vented discs with Redstuff pads. All good so far, although the pads do take a little to warm up....

I am in the same boat, I am looking to change my front discs and have EBC on the rear with red stuff pads but must be honest and say I am not liking the red stuff. Should I be gettin the EBC on the front with Mintex pads, which I believe are pretty good, or should I get different disks?

I thought prodrive discs were 308mm....
drilled discs work very well but eventually crack around the holes as they wear out.
Currently using Redstuff front and back, previous ds2500 was very good but started to leave deposits as i was not using them hard enough all the time.
