Default Tyres

Which do you use, at the moment i have some linglongs or what ever there called, because the car came with 4 new tyres.

And have not be upset with them in the dry, but been out on a scooby drive with nysoc, and in the rain and wet roads, i had to drive like miss daisy. Didnt feel like there was any grip in the corners,

So want them off and will keep them in case i do a track day, Want the best grip in the wet and not stupid money ( i class £135 as stupid money £60-£85 is good )

Cheers

just been looking at these:

Ziex ZE 512 225/45 ZR17 91W with rim protection

Avantgarde engineering in the running surface and sidewall designs, inspired by the wing shape of a falcon in flight. • Innovative compound technology with silica significantly improves handling in wet conditions and increases performance. • Extra-hard shoulder and new profile design prevent uneven wear and delivers a smoother ride

and these:

CHAMPIRO 328 225/45 ZR17 94W RF

* Designed for excellent control at high speed. * Solid centre rib for directional stability + comfort. * Big, strong shoulder blocks reduce squirm but enhance cornering + steering response. * Improved water removal + wet grip performance. * Wide driving surface enhances handling + lowers noise. * Rim protector to prevent kerb damage to your wheels. * With stunning looks and superb handling characteristics, the new GT Radial Champiro 328 tyres will keep you and your car in control at high speeds.

(use to run these on my V6 and found them great but that was FWD,)

you want decent tyres on a track day

i had the same idea about using cheap tyres, i was sliding all over the place it was quite fun till i went spinning round (that could also of been down to my bad driving)

Toyo T1S at Camskill are about £62 from memory, on aclassic shouldn't you be looking for 215/45/17 ? Not that I know 'owt !

DunxC

P.S. I've two Ting-Tong's I'll kill on track too, they are rubbish in the dry never mind the wet !
