Std offset is ET55. If you have a 4 door, ANY Prodrive wheel will fit though so long as they aren't one of the really old designs.

The PFF7s would be a great wheel to fit, ET51 is fine (not sure why you think it wouldn't be, Prodrive wouldn't make a wheel that isn't suitable for an Impreza)... and at that price a bargain too. Get them!!!

Yeah i thought it was odd... they look like normal prodrive wheels but the chap said they were classic fitment (thought this was the same) just going on the reply i got above which said its et55 on mine, so others do fit then? ie the et51? whats the difference between all these..

To late now missed the deal :-( im working today about 1mile from where the wheels are, could of picked them up on way home :-(

It would have been the start of my mods i think!.. just been looking at the group buy on those nice 8Pot Breaks :-)

ET55 is the offset of the standard wheels, you don't have to stick to that exactly. Anywhere between ET48 and 55 should be fine. I have PFF7s on my 06 (see view my scooby)... the offest just means the wheels stick out a bit further from the hubs. Anything from Prodrive is fine tho as they are tailored for the Impreza.

Classic and newage wrxs can share wheels, the stud pattern is 5x100 pcd so they are interchangeable. However if these were fitted to a classic the tyres would probably have been 215/35R18, for newage cars this should be 225/40R18.

Don't get 05 onward STi wheels, offset will be fine but the PCD(stud pattern) is completely wrong.

Most cars have a PCD of 5x100 some JDM STi's and UK 05 STi's have 5x114.3

is it the smaller the offset number i.e et49 the more it will stick out from the hub?

Yep the smaller the number(ET) means the wheel sticks out further from the car, alot of aftermarket 17's run about ET48 and some run smaller to clear Brembo's

Hi Mike,
What about a wagon?
I have a 2007 WRX wagon and have been thinking of changing the wheels (keeping the OE ones with winter tyres). What would be the best offset in order not to upset the handling?
I haven't decided whether to stick with 17's or 18's; I will have the PPP fitted at some point and know that prodrive recommends 18's but the car will become more agile at the limit won't it? I don't want to ruin the ride quality either so was thinking of sticking to 17's.
Thanks

My ride with prodrive springs and 18" PFF7s is actually getter than OEM 17" wheels and springs. As you say prodrive recommend 18s with the PPP and i'd go along with that... my car with the springs, PPP and PFF7s just seems to gel. A nice road package (see view my scooby for pics of wheels and springs fitted).

On some 5door cars there's a chance that the P-FF7 catches on the rear as it's an 8" wheel. Doesn't affect every car but it means that it's not a recommended fitment if you want to be sure of the tyres not catching.

The P-WRC1 (P1) or GT1 (GB270 style) wheels do fit as they are 7.5 x 18" and don't have a negative impact on ride quality at all. There's only benefits to handling, steering and looks to put up with

Tyre size is correct.

Compared to the std 17" you'll get better steering feel, more grip, less understeer and depending on exact tyre spec fitted, you may well get a better ride as well.

Leon,

I have Michelin Pilot Sport 2s on mine, not the cheapest but a very good tyre. Good grip wet and dry, with minimal road noise. Plus they seem to be wearing very well too.

anyone got any pics of 03-05 WRXs wtih PPF7's on??

Leon

Made the Decision .... They are sitting in my Kitchen at the moment! :-) Got an even better price and they are as New, perfect condition. Quite nice in the Anthracite colour so will look good on the Blue car.

Two Tyres are Brand New Toyo T1R's, the other T1s's need replacing soon, not come accross T1R's before are they any good??

Also what difference does the larger wheel make to the speedo? I have checked mine with GPS on 17" wheels and the speedo is out (under reading, getting worse as the speed increases) So i can compare this when i get the 18's on...

T1-R's are a good tyre, I've been running a set for the last 20k or so and they're due for replacement. However, I will be trying something different this time, just because I fancy either a set of Verdestein US's or the new Goodyear F1 asymmetric..

Incidentally, I run a 8x18 (ET48) OZ with 225/40 18's. IMHO the WRX needs a bigger tyre/wheel combo to fill the arches as they're seriously under-tyred as standard..! Lol, just take a look from behind..!

The speedo should be more accurate with this size tyre, all cars have to over read by law and they do get worse at higher speeds. Should be no more than 10%, mine with the 18's works out at about 6%.

Just noticed you say your speedo is under-reading, I think you must mean over..?

ie at an indicated 60 you'll actually be doing ~56mph and indicated 100 will actually be ~94mph..

Mine still under reads with the 18s but slightly less so than the OEM wheels. Think indicated 70 is about 67 now.
