Default FEDERAL SS595RS tyres

FEDERAL TYRES / TRACKDAY TRACK DAY / FEDERAL SS595RS FEDERAL SS 595 RS - 205/50R16 87W : £95.00 : Track Day Tyres - Trackday Tyres - Motorsport Tyres : R16" - 205/50/16, 205/50 R16 -

Hi, just wondering if anyone has had any experience with these tyres on track before?
What are they like in dry/wet? How durable are the sidewalls?
I'm looking to get some tyres that will last longer than my Toyo T1-R's on trackdays. I seem to destroy the Toyos each trackday (mainly the sidewalls) and need something that can handle track use.

Thanks

If your tyres are wearing on the sides you need to increase pressures. I use 40F and 36R cold on a blobeye for track. It may cost a little grip but my sidewalls are fine (17" RE040, 18" R888s and F1s all ok).

Funny you should say that, I inflated my fronts to 40psi and rear to 38psi cold. But after about 30 laps i checked the pressures and they had rocketed up so i lowered them to 40 and 38 again. Was this a mistake? I see in another post you mentioned that you leave the pressures to increase as the tyre temp increases.
